PETER JOYCE, Dorset-born, began exhibiting with the gallery in 1990. Since then he has gained an international reputation where his landscape paintings - generally abstract - are included in many private, public and corporate collections. Peter works from the memory of areas regularly visited, explored and researched - in Dorset, Cornwall and in France. Research is critical, he needs to have a good knowledge of his subject's history, geology and general atmosphere. Smaller works are generally made on location in the landscape and with limited materials carried in a small backpack. Peter's paintings are always available from the gallery and his last exhibition (18 October - 15 November 2008) accompanied by a fully illustrated catalogue, was a virtual sell-out.
